Topics of Interest

Design Science is a catalyst for groundbreaking ideas, transformative experiences, new solutions, structured knowledge and innovative use. It is an interdisciplinary domain that focuses on the development and application of scientific methods to designing systems and processes. It combines elements of mathematics, physics, mechanical engineering, bioengineering, manufacturing processes, sensors, computing, automation and control. Design science plays a pivotal role in fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and driving innovation in product design, ultimately contributing to enhancing the quality of life.

 

The International Conference on Design Science (ICDS 2024) is set to convene at the State Key Laboratory of Mechanical System and Vibration, School of Mechanical Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. This gathering is supported by the SJTU-GEC Academy Center for Innovative Design for Interdisciplinary Studies, the Shanghai Society for Modern Design Theory and Methodology Research, and the Xie Youbai Design Science Research Foundation.

 

ICDS's objective is to emphasize the importance of models and methodologies in Design for new technologies and applications. The conference is an opportunity for researchers, scientists and industry practitioners to present their most recent results, to discuss together new solutions, and to find out common interests for further cooperation.
